Panthers Coach Blames Sixth Straight Loss On Individual Players

The Carolina Panthers' losing streak has stretched to six games. They fell to the Minnesota Vikings last night, 31-13.

The Vikings blocked two punts from Carolina and returned them for touchdowns.

Carolina Fullback Mike Tolbert says he's disappointed in his team's performance.

“It's just so frustrating because... as a guy that says I help lead this team, I believe it and I know that were so much better than we're showing,” Tolbert says. “The product we're putting on the field is just not us at all.”

Carolina Coach Ron Rivera says he's disappointed, but says his team is still a strong unit that needs minor tweaks.

“Individuals got beat up and under... and those are individual breakdowns that will be corrected,” said Rivera, adding that the Panthers’ system is strong. “Got nothing to do with the protections or anything like that. Individuals got beat.”

Rivera says he's cautiously optimistic that the season's tides will turn in the Panthers' favor.

They'll head to New Orleans to play The Saints next Sunday.
