Duke's Jabari Parker Bakes Sweet Treats For Super Fans

http://youtu.be/18guoG8OAck

There's a group of students at Duke  called The Crazies. They are the kids who get all decked out and painted up and sit in the most coveted spot during basketball games at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Crazies are the uber fans. They camp out for 6-8 weeks in order to be in the front row when Duke plays UNC at home.

So, imagine you're a Crazy. You've got your face paint in your back pocket and your wig and body paint at the ready. You've been camping in a tent for weeks. How cool would it be if the following happened?

One of the stars of the team, Jabari Parker, shows up...with a snack for you...that he baked himself.

That's exactly what happened recently and Duke Blue Planet made a really engaging video out of it.

Dave Bradley is the lucky guy who put the project together. He says that the idea came up last summer. He was talking with Jabari Parker and the conversation somehow turned to cooking. Bradley said he wasn't much of a cook, Parker said he could only cook one thing. "Once I heard that," says Bradley, the idea for the video began to take shape.

The Crazies: Part of the Team

Duke men's basketball Coach Mike Krzyzewski is quoted on Duke Blue Planet as saying that the Cameron Crazies are a part of the team: "I call them the Sixth Man and I think they give us unbelievable support in tough moments. They are funny. They create a music or atmosphere in Cameron that is conducive to having a great game. They are not there to watch the game. They are there to be a part of the game. They take the game to another level and then they take our team or a person to another level."
