Officials at Raleigh Durham International Airport say coming infrastructure upgrades will not interfere with plans for a direct flight to Paris.
The airport has two runways. The 10,000-foot-long international runway was built in the 1980s and will be due for rehabilitation in the next decade.
RDU spokeswoman Mindy Hamlin says repairs will not interfere with service.
"Over the years we have done many major projects—built new terminals, parking garages, roadways, and done minor rehabilitations on our runways—and they have not interfered with our flights, and will not in the future."
RDU is accepting public comments for its Vision 2040. The master plan should be finalized next year.
