João Ritter combines his technical computer skills with his musical ear to record, mix and master his own tracks.

The guitarist is known as Élève and when he is not recording music, he is a computer science major at UNC-Chapel Hill. Ritter joins fellow UNC student and violinist Ledah Finck for a live performance and a conversation with host Frank Stasio.

Frank Stasio
Longtime NPR correspondent Frank Stasio was named permanent host of The State of Things in June 2006. A native of Buffalo, Frank has been in radio since the age of 19. He began his public radio career at WOI in Ames, Iowa, where he was a magazine show anchor and the station's News Director.
