Live Updates: 2020 Election Results
According to the Associated Press, former Vice President Joe Biden has been elected the 46th President of the United States. The AP called the race Saturday morning when it said that Pennsylvania's 20 electoral votes put Biden over the 270-vote threshold needed to win the Electoral College.
At 77, Biden is the oldest man ever elected president, and he'll be 78 by Inauguration Day. By defeating Donald Trump, Biden is the first challenger to defeat an incumbent first-term president in nearly 30 years.
Biden's running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris of California, will be the first woman, the first Black person, the first Indian American and the first Asian American to hold the office of vice president. She will also be the first graduate of an HBCU to do so.
