Rhythm Lab Radio

WUNC Music is thrilled to welcomeRhythm Lab Radio to its weekend lineup.

Hosted by Tarik Moody from 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, Rhythm Lab Radio redefines the urban sound with a mix of jazz, electronic, hip-hop and soul music. Each week, Rhythm Lab introduces listeners to new artists that are testing boundaries and making music that does not fit neatly into a single box.

88Nine Radio Milwaukee (WYMS-FM 88.9) has been a positive force for Milwaukee on-air, online and in the community since its 2007 launch. Through its creative programming and content, Radio Milwaukee utilizes a multimedia platform for creating a better, more inclusive and engaged community. The station broadcasts and streams a unique blend of musical styles, including at least one song by a Milwaukee artist each hour, and short Community Stories that foster engagement and positive change.

WUNC Music's Brian Burns had this to say about Rhythm Lab Radio: "I could not be more excited to welcome Rhythm Lab Radio to the Triangle via WUNC Music. WUNC Music is all about music discovery, and Rhythm Lab has been a favorite source of discovery to me for years. It's also an honor to work with Tarik Moody and Jordan Lee, two people I consider role models for the work they're doing in their community and on the air at Radio Milwaukee."

Rhythm Lab Radio debuts on WUNC Music this Sunday night at 7pm following SHEROES with Carmel Holt.

Brian Burns is the Music Director for WUNC Music, WUNC's AAA music discovery station. He has been working within the local music scene for over a decade. On the weekends you might see him DJing at various spots around the Triangle, or digging through boxes of records. He's also the host of Future Shock on WUNC Music and a contributor to NPR Music. He graduated from UNC’s School of Information and Library Science with an MSLS in 2015.
