[RE-SCHEDULED] Imperfect Attendance: NC Students Have Their Say

Aug 26, 2020

BRIAN BATISTA FOR WUNC

READER'S NOTE: This event has been rescheduled. Updated event details will be posted here soon.

It's a pretty weird time to be a student in North Carolina, wouldn't you say?

Taking online classes. Maintaining friendships at a distance. Having tough conversations about race, police brutality and politics. A lot is being asked of you right now. But is anyone listening to what young folks have to say about our "new normal?"

We are. WUNC, Village of Wisdom and Durham city councilman/musician Pierce Freelon are teaming up to co-host an event that features...you.

If you're a middle or high school student in our state, join us Saturday, September 12th at 3pm for a virtual townhall that's a safe space for you to have your say. Share your thoughts and experiences from the semester so far. Have your questions answered by journalists and experts. Or, just get to know other kids in the state facing some of the same challenges as you.

Register for the event below. Tell as many of your friends, classmates and neighbors as you can to join you. And if you want to send in a story or question via video, email it to wuncvoices@gmail.com or text 919-980-5419.
