PHOTOS: Protesters Gather Peacefully To Denounce George Floyd Death

Cities across the Triangle and Triad witnessed a night of peaceful demonstrations, more than a week after the death of George Floyd while in police custody in Minneapolis.

Many protesters remained in downtown Raleigh and Greensboro after those cities' 8 p.m. curfew, but the gatherings remained calm, with protesters holding moments of silence and chanting while calling for change.

"The police's response made this different from what it was over the weekend," said organizer Grazie Boccia. "It is not about the way that we protested, it is about the way that we are responded to."
