Thao Confronts Critic In Hilarious New Video

Thao Nguyen of Thao & The Get Down Stay Down wants you to know she really doesn't care what critics say about her music. But in a comical new video to spoof her band's latest album, We The Common, the singer decides that one writer has gone too far.

The video, "Art Of My Loins," is the second in a series of short films Thao and director Lauren Tabak are releasing as a web series to promote We The Common called Behind The Making Of The Making Of How It Was Made. Thao says she "wanted to offer a behind the scenes look at the making and release of this record," but says she "wanted it to be entertaining. The best way to do that was to make merciless fun of myself. This series also marks my return to acting, which I left in high school after I had that one line in that play."

You can see the first online episode for Behind The Making, called "The Hand Of God," on Thao's web site. And you can hear the entire new album We The Common now in our First Listen series.
