Tommy Stinson has long since cemented his legacy in rock history by working with legendary rock groups The Replacements and Guns N' Roses. But he isn't letting his resume overshadow his exciting new material.
One Man Mutiny has a clear blues-rock vibe, perhaps influenced in part by one of Stinson's other groups, the '90s alt-rock band Bash & Pop. Though it hints at country — pedal-steel guitar makes an appearance, for example — the album is still based on gritty and visceral rock 'n' roll. Singing of relationships and liquor, Stinson is backed by the marvelous vocals of his fiancee, Emily Roberts.
Here, Stinson performs a midday concert from World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. Listen live at noon ET.
