Authentic and inspiring, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals' rootsy sound has won the band fans in cities all over the country. Potter's soulful, bluesy voice draws frequent comparisons to Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin, and the band has won plenty of awards, from several Boston Music Awards (Album of the Year and Best Female Vocalist of the Year) to a Jammy for Best New Groove.
The group has now evolved into a strong quintet and broken into the big time with a recent self-titled album. As Potter notes, the process of making the record "was fluid and effortless. In my mind, an album shouldn't be self-titled unless it feels that way."
