Clare And The Reasons And Van Dyke Parks On World Cafe

Known for cleverly combining sophisticated, raw and mature styles with whimsical tinkering, the charming husband-and-wife led band Clare and the Reasons gained acclaim after the release of its debut LP, The Movie, a couple years ago. Featuring major contributions from producer and arranger Van Dyke Parks, the album was an underground success and led to a series of tours around the globe. Lugging around a strange array of instruments, from cellos, violas and kotos to the childlike kazoos and recorders, Clare and Olivier Manchon toured with Parks, who famously collaborated with the Beach Boys, U2, Joanna Newsom and a number of other top-tier artists.
