Although Real Estate's debut album was released in November, it still feels like a breezy summer night. With just a pinch of catchy pop, the band plays melodic arrangements without making the hooks overly apparent. More than half of the song titles allude to beaches and lakes, so the band definitely had a clear vision for the project.
Started by a former member of Titus Andronicus -- as well as Matt Mondanile, who also records tropical-psych space-outs as Ducktails -- Real Estate recently made the move from its Jersey Shore digs to Brooklyn.
