Lambchop: Americana, Bound For 'Ohio'

Lambchop, an acclaimed Nashville alt-country collective, is the brainchild of frontman Kurt Wagner. His music represents an offbeat marriage of country, soul and avant-garde pop, sprinkled over gently fingerpicked guitar. An ever-rotating ensemble that, at its grandest, grew to 15 members has slimmed down to eight for Lambchop's new record, OH (Ohio).

OH (Ohio) doesn't deviate much from the band's usual relaxed and wry style. Wagner's understated melodies and ambiguous lyrics are in abundant supply, and OH (Ohio) is upbeat and soulful in its irreverence.

In this interview, Wagner discusses the band's various lineups, as well as his relationship to the visual arts.
