In the spirit of mixing and matching music on MP3 players, Performance Today mixes a set of four short pieces, back to back, by Benjamin Britten (the "Aria Italiana" from Variations of a Theme by Frank Bridge, played in concert in Lincoln, Nebraska, by the Camerata Nordica), J.S. Bach (Peter Serkin plays the Chorale BWV 691 in concert at the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival in Kalamazoo), Mozart (a version for two flutes of the aria "O Isis and Osiris" from the Magic Flute, played by Les Roettges and Brian Gordon at the Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina), and Richard Strauss (Eri Klas leads the National Orchestral Institute at the University of Maryland in the finale of "Don Quixote").
