Jam Sessions Become 'Time for Three'

The performers who make up Time for Three met as students at Philadelphia's Curtis Institute for Music.

A few years ago, they were three aspiring classical string players who got together to blow off steam with free-flowing jam sessions that might range from jazz to bluegrass, classical to rock. Now, they're three highly trained classical string players... but those jam sessions have evolved into an ensemble with its own identity, tours, concerts and recordings. Time for Three joins Fred Child in Studio 4A to play its ethereal arrangement of the Beatles tune "Blackbird," as well as an original called "Of Time and Three Rivers." Time for Three's debut CD is called, logically enough, Time for Three.
