In the final part of a series on the connection between folk and classical music from around the world, Performance Today turns to the world of American jazz. The classically trained musicians of the Turtle Island String Quartet often cross musical genres to play swing, be-bop and funk. In Studio 4A, they perform Oliver Nelson's blues tune "Yearnin."

The "Fiddlers Three" -- classical violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Celtic fiddler Eileen Ivers and jazz violinist Regina Carter -- perform the Triple Concerto for Violin and Orchestra by Chris Brubeck, son of the jazz legend Dave. And pianist Art Tatum plays Anton Rubinstein's Melody in F, Op. 3, No. 1
