In the 1940s, Wilt Browning's parents raised him with the expectation that he'd go to work in the same Carolina cotton mill where they labored. But he grew up among a generation of tradition breakers -- kids who decided that a life as cotton mill workers was not for them -- and Wilt left the mill hill to pursue a career as a sportswriter. Today, he is the president of the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame. Wilt joins host Frank Stasio to talk about preserving mill town history, NC's sports heritage, and life as a "linthead."
