Meet Philip Bennett
Monday, October 12 2009
by Frank Stasio and Lindsay Thomas
As the managing editor of The Washington Post, Philip Bennett helped earn the newspaper 10 Pulitzer prizes for, among others, stories about private contractors in Iraq and neglect of soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Now, Bennett is bringing his experience as a journalist to the classroom at Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy where he teaches a course about reporting state secrets. He joins host Frank Stasio to talk about the moral and ethical dilemmas journalists face as government watchdogs and how newspaper reporters can work to stay relevant in the digital age.
