Too Controversial for School?

On Tuesday, the University of California Irvine, Chancellor Michael Drake flew to Durham to withdraw the offer that would have made Duke law Professor Erwin Chemerinsky head of its new law school. The reason given? Chemerinsky was “too politically controversial.”  Kurt Smith, Professor of Philosophy at Bloomsburg University, talks with host Frank Stasio about the implications of the Chemerinsky story, free speech and academic freedom in the university setting.
