Jane Wathome was born into a privileged family in Nairobi, Kenya. She was a Theology student studying biblical counseling when she said she heard the call to go out and meet women who were suffering in the slums that Jane had only heard about. Out of those meetings was born Beacon of Hope. It started as a vocational training center for HIV infected women in Nairobi. Now it’s also a school, a medical clinic, a community garden and a women’s support center. Host Frank Stasio speaks with Jane Wathome in Nairobi about her vision for Beacon of Hope.
