by Amber Nimocks and Frank Stasio
For years Randi Davenport sought help for her son, Chase. He was severely developmentally disabled, and when he was 9-years-old he began showing signs of psychosis. At age 15, he had a psychotic incident that led him to be institutionalized. In her new book, Davenport chronicles the difficult and lonely journey of getting Chase the help he needed while keeping her family together. She'll talk with Frank Stasio about her journey and the love story she has written to her family, "The Boy Who Loved Tornadoes" (Algonquin Books/2010).
