From Farm to Fork

Consumer demand for locally and sustainably raised food is growing in North Carolina, as it is across the country. Farmers all over the state are working to meet the demand, a task that's seldom as simple as it seems. Beyond the fields, policy makers and educators are working to develop systems that will provide a viable economic future for farmers while building a locally based food economy. Host Frank Stasio talks about the future of farming in the state with Michelle Schroeder-Moreno, head of N.C. State's agroecology program; Roland McReynolds, executive director of the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association; Jennifer Curtis, of the Center for Environmental Farming Systems; and Martha Mobley, a Franklin County farmer and state agriculture extension agent.
