When a group of high school kids from Georgia set out to appear on MTV's hit series "Pimp My Ride," they weren't hoping to have an old beater tricked out by the show's car-transformation wizards. They wanted a chance for their friend Darius Weems, a 15-year-old with a degenerative muscle condition, to have his wheelchair customized on the program in Los Angeles. Their cross-country trek was Darius' first time away from home, and the trip turned out to be the ride of his life. The journey is documented in the film, "Darius Goes West." Host Frank Stasio is joined by the film's director Logan Smalley and Jarrard Cole, a University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill freshman who worked as an editor on the documentary.
