Retired IBM executive Stan Kimer has been elected to lead the North Carolina Council of Churches, an advocacy and lobbying group that unites the state’s Christian congregations. Kimer is the first openly gay person to serve in this position and his election could signal a significant change to the theologically conservative religious landscape of the South. Kimer joins host Frank Stasio to talk about his new leadership role and his vision for the council.
