Teen Pot Use May Lower IQ

Duke University researchers say there's evidence that early marijuana use has a negative impact on intelligence. The study examined routine cannabis users who began smoking before the age of 18. On average, subjects showed an 8-point drop in I-Q when measured at age 13 and then again at 38. Madeline Meier worked on the study and says that drop is significant.

Freeing LaMonte Armstrong

LaMonte Armstrong was a graduate of North Carolina A&T University and a basketball coach before he became known as a murderer.  In 1995, he was convicted of killing his former college professor and family friend Ernestine Compton. Armstrong has maintained his innocence ever since, and he was finally released this year after two defense attorneys successfully presented evidence of wrongful conviction. Host Frank Stasio talks about the case with LaMonte Armstrong and his attorney Theresa Newman, co-director of Duke's Wrongful Convictions Clinic.

College Students Pouring Into Triangle

Students are moving back into Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill as classes are starting at Triangle Universities.

Dave DeWitt: Heavy rain over the weekend didn't make things easier for the tens of thousands of college students and parents lugging boxes up flights of stairs. Several schools were forced to cancel some outdoor activities over the weekend designed to welcome students to campus.
