Greensboro Ministers Protest Police Firings

A group of influential ministers in Greensboro are protesting the police department's termination hearing sfor three officers this week. Reverend Cardes Brown says the officers are being fired because they spoke out about police corruption and double standards. Brown also refutes the main points of a letter released by city manager Rashad Young earlier this month saying there is no culture of corruption in the police department.
Cardes Brown: Mr. young's letter explains nothing. It is statistics tied to a flawed line of reasoning that is without merit, especially as it relates to the current crisis.
The city manager's office would not comment. Neither would the police department. Greensboro's new police chief, Ken Miller, will be sworn in next week after the hearings are over.
