Update: Long at Rex

Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin says his predecessor, Jim Long, was conscious and able to speak when he was taken by ambulance to Rex hospital. The six-term former commissioner collapsed on his way to a committee meeting at the Legislative Office Bldg this afternoon.
Goodwin says Long's wife is trying to get a flight back from Atlanta, but other family members are with him at the hospital. There's no further word on his condition. Goodwin says he'll update as soon as he can, assuming Long's family consents.
