Monday: Hello?

I got a call tonight from a nice young lady named “Kelly” with the “Campaign for Responsible Health Reform,” a 527 publicity campaign by the US Chamber of Commerce.
“Do you agree that Americans cannot afford more health care taxes?” she asked.
“I don’t know,” I told Kelly. “What health care taxes are we paying now?”
“I really don’t know,” she replied, “but Washington politicians are considering a plan that would create 300 billion dollars in new taxes on the health care system.”
“Really? $300 billion?” I asked Kelly. “How did you arrive at that number?”
“Um, I really don’t know. Can I connect you with Congressman Price’s office?”
“Sure.”
I was put straight through to Congressman Price’s Raleigh district office. No, I didn’t leave a message. But I’m hoping Congressman Price will realize that most of those callers who did probably didn’t have all the facts.
BTW, progressive US corporations (including Apple) are dropping their Chamber affiliations like a hot potato. Wonder why.
Comments? Drop me a line.
