The NCSU Technician (the student paper) is reporting this morning that NCSU Chancellor James Oblinger has resigned his position "effective immediately," according to a memo from UNC President Erskine Bowles. That's after the N&O's Andy Curliss reported last night that Oblinger sweetened former Provost Larry Nielsen's severance package one day before Nielsen resigned.
I've got a request in at the UNC media office for a copy of the memo. I'll post it here when I get it. Meantime, the NCSU Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet again this afternoon at 2:00. Stay tuned.
