Fans of the Carolina Panthers will watch their team in the Wildcard round of the NFL playoffs this Sunday in New Orleans. Soon those fans will wait to see what happens with the franchise. Jerry Richardson, the only owner the Panthers have ever known, will sell the team this off-season. The 81-year-old agreed to sell the team last month, after allegations of workplace harassment and misconduct were detailed in a report by Sports Illustrated.

Who will buy the Panthers? Could that person, or group, move the team? And, in an era of publicly-financed stadiums, is Bank of America Stadium destined to be a venue of the past? Katie Peralta of the Charlotte Observer speaks with Jeff Tiberii about what may be on the horizon for the Panthers.

Jeff Tiberii is the co-host of WUNC's "Due South." Jeff joined WUNC in 2011. During his 20 years in public radio, he was Morning Edition Host at WFDD and WUNC’s Greensboro Bureau Chief and later, the Capitol Bureau Chief. Jeff has covered state and federal politics, produced the radio documentary “Right Turn,” launched a podcast, and was named North Carolina Radio Reporter of the Year four times.
