Update: All the sessions available have been booked. We will be opening another round of sessions for booking at 10 A.M. on Friday April 18!

StoryCorps is that terrific project where regular people can go into an audio recording booth and interview someone they know. StoryCorps interviews are regular Friday morning features on Morning Edition.

Do you want to record an interview with someone? Here's all the info you need:

When: April 17 - May 18

Where: StoryCorps' MobileBooth (an Airstream trailer outfitted with a recording studio) will be parked at the American Tobacco Campus for 4 weeks.

Do I need to reserve a space? Yes! Call StoryCorps' 24-hour toll-free reservation line at 1-800-850-4406 or visit storycorps.org.

When do reservations open? You can call beginning at 10:00 am on April 3, 2014. (Number is above.)

Will my story be on the radio? WUNC will air some stories locally. Segments of select StoryCorps interviews may also air nationally on NPR's Morning Edition. All interviews are archived at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

How will I know what to ask? StoryCorps interviews are conducted between two people who know and care about each other. So, you will be talking to someone you know well, about a topic you care about. In addition, there is a trained facilitator who will help guide you through the interview process.

Can anyone book a spot? Absolutely!

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have experiences in North Carolina's tobacco industry.

>>Listen to some of the stories that were recorded the last time the booth was in Durham.

The last time StoryCorps was in town, Eddie Lanier and David Wright recorded their story. Eddie had struggled with alcoholism for over 40 years, until his 28th stint in rehab finally led to sobriety. Homeless and hungry, Eddie found a friend in David Wright, a passerby whose frequent donations stood out. Four years after they shared Eddie's remarkable story with StoryCorps, David persuaded Eddie to move into his home. They still live together to this day. StoryCorps turned their story into an animation:
