In the NFL yesterday, the Carolina Panthers shared in the league's first tie of the season.

The Panthers played the Cincinnati Bengals and it wound up 37-to-37 after a missed Cincinnati field goal at the end of overtime.

Carolina quarterback Cam Newton led the team with 107 rushing yards on 17 carries, but was disappointed with the team's result.

“It's kind of a weird feeling, you know, we did show flashes, but not enough,” Newton says.

“You know you play just good enough, you play good enough just to get beat and you play good enough to win as well, but today, you know we was kind of 50-50.”

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said his team made too many mistakes that allowed the Bengals to stay in the game.

The tie was the first in Carolina franchise history.
