A former John Edwards supporter will be under cross examination this morning in a federal courtroom.
Jeff Tiberii: Tim Toben testified about his relationships with Edwards and former aide Andrew Young on Monday. Toben said that early one morning in December of 2007 he drove Edwards pregnant mistress, Young and Young’s wife Cheri to a private airplane hangar at RDU. From there those three went into hiding for several months. Later that day Edwards called Toben, thanked him and said he would never forget the favor. One law expert says Toben’s testimony puts Edwards back in the middle of the attempt to conceal the affair, adding that it sets up an important cross examination for the defense.
